In regards to this topic; I once got really hooked on the idea of turning voice and vocal sounds to midi. There was a kickstarter project I almosted backed because I tried to convice E. that it would be a great gift for her sister. Looking at the price, I can understand her saying "no" at the time, but the idea never left me.
Looking at what it is now and what artists like Andrew Huang create with it - might even be possible that the artist in the French TV Show used it mixed with some other effects to get a wider range of sounds - I still think it's really impressive! And there's a version two coming; I just signed up for the newsletter.
